AI's integration into media operations is deepening, with applications ranging from automated content generation to predictive analytics for audience behaviour. This reliance enhances operational efficiency but simultaneously broadens the attack surface for cyber threats. Recent developments highlight the escalating threats posed by malicious actors exploiting AI systems.
A notable instance occurred during the UK elections where sophisticated bots and deepfake technologies were employed to spread false narratives and amplify divisive issues, demonstrating the tangible impact of AI on democratic processes.
