Connecting police forces across the UK.
The Association of Police Communicators (APComm) exist to provide police communications at a national level and are committed to professional development. Providing networking, support, and shared learning opportunities to all their members, most police forces across the UK are members at APComm.
Lost data and outdated systems.
APComm were facing a multitude of challenges with their existing website, which was causing a lot of problems for them. Members could not view the front-end site, which meant they couldn’t access the resources and data provided. APComm we also unable to access their own website, so there was no ability to view or update anything, which led to confusion in the association with nothing being done. Reuben was tasked with a gaining access and redesigning the site to provide an excellent space for news, events and resources to be shared.
A website revolution.
Working very closely with APComm we were able to deliver exactly what they needed – meeting all their requirements to W3C accessibility standards. We also created a member only portal (extranet), referred to as The Hub, which is a private area where police forces can share resources, best practises and exchange more sensitive information in a safe and secure way.
We built APComm a bespoke events manager, as they run lots of events for their members, and we developed a bespoke downloads manager where they can easily update documents sitewide efficiently. These features were all included for them in our CMS build.
Building for the future.
We successfully completed the website build with a 6-week turnaround, ahead of the deadline set. The result is a professional, intuitive, and highly functional website that provides a solid foundation for the organisation to operate efficiently and in a secure way.
What APComm had to say.
"We recently commissioned Reuben to build a new website for the Association of Police Communicators (APComm). Reuben was our chosen supplier thanks to their sleek and user-friendly web design and their sound advice in regards to website security – a vitally important area for us. Throughout the build process, we liaised with the team on a regular basis, who kept us constantly informed, advised us on solutions, consulted us on the design throughout and who were extremely helpful in uploading content and getting us set to ‘go live’. They were also very patient with us as we tried to manage this project on top of our very busy day jobs – thank you! We would not hesitate to recommend Reuben to anyone looking for web solutions."
